I love writing gospel music. I am self-taught in piano, guitar, and composing and producing. Just because it doesn’t have studio quality, and might not be accepted by most singer/songwriting professionals, that’s no reason not to do what’s in your heart. Plus, there’s plenty of software out there to help you accomplish it.

Create Wallet Cards

Here’s an idea, create your own wallet cards.  Wallet cards are little 2″x 3″ picture cards with inspirational sayings/writings on them.  I saw a display of them in a car wash lobby.  They cost about $2.95 each.  Like most crafters the first thing to come to mind is…  I can make that!  So I took an old picture that I painted and thought about what I might say and here’s the result.  I suggest printing it on some kind of card stock with a glossy finish.  Works for me!

my prayer

Looking Back

In commemoration of the passing of my husband of 34 years, I would like to share with my BA Gospel Music Ministry friends a song I wrote back in 2012 when we were going through a rough patch called “Prayer of My Heart.” In addition, I would like to say to you not to wait until a tragic event comes along to show love to one another. Make up with your loved one quickly, life is short. As Jesus said, “Forgive…” (Mark 11:25); and, “Love one another…” (John 3:23).

Prayer of My Heart

Spread the Word

One day, out of the blue, my mind started thinking in terms of rhyming.  I would read and get inspired by a certain verse or word and I would start turning over rhymes in my mind.  Feeling that I was on to something, I began writing them down.  That led to writing poems, I put a few on, a while back.  When I turned to producing songs, I took the poetry and put music to it in my mind.  When I sit down to try to produce the song, the complete rendition is already set in my  mind, so when I find the means, it only takes a moment to produce it.    Since then, I have moved on to making videos (it’s free), I just published my latest on YouTube.  “Spread the Word.”  Below I have listed the poem it was created from.

I speak these words by inspiration

Given to me by revelation

That by publication, education

Taken to a dying nation

May result in the perpetuation

Of the common salvation

From creation to the population

I got to Spread the Word

So with dedication to the situation

I maintain the observation

This persuasion of predestination

Is aggravation, and invasion

Into my direction

With no escape from intimidation to manifestation

by motivation of the preparation of this

Of this dissertation, illiteration, and illustration

I got to Spread the Word

Spring Bazaar 2016

Our 2016 Spring Bazaar was a smashing success.  Vendors, comprised of family and friends, made an impressive display of entrepreneurship.  We are in our 8th year, conducted free of charge on our home turf, the Bazaar gives it’s participants a chance to display their wares and/or support others.  Neighbors and passersby have been very supportive also.  Here’s a bit of a peek.  Oh, and we were all thankful to God, because although rain was forecast, it held off until the end of the Bazaar.

Summer is Family Fun

Our Family Fun fellowship group is gearing up for this summer’s events.  We have a bazaar, our regular Lily of the Valley Family Fun event, a family reunion, and a barbecue.   It is so important for family to continue to come together, especially for the children.  We are reaching out to long-lost family members to make them aware that they have many, many relations they may not know about.  We are looking back to our ancestors; who were they,  who are their children, their children’s children?  It is my hope and prayer that we may join in fellowship with many newly discovered family members this summer.

Making Music Videos

I am so excited about my latest project.   As I may have mentioned before, I am a gospel songwriter/singer.  I have so many songs recorded it’s not funny.  Being unconventional in my approach, and in my sound, I opted to record in my home studio.  I don’t have money for professional recording studios, which can cost hundreds of dollars and require spending a lot of time to, in  and from the studio,  I decided that by the grace of God, I would produce my music myself.  Now, that sounds simple, maybe, but if you have something to say,  getting someone to hear it is another hill to climb.

There are so many opportunities with social media, this has opened doors that hitherto were closed.  And, now, I have discovered music videos.  Not of me singing, but by using pictures, themes, typed words, other audio-video media (I am using Cyberlink Power Director that came with my computer), you can produce any type of video you want.  I am having so much fun.

If you get a chance, drop by Youtube and take a look, or listen, or both.  You can click on the following link to take you there.

Sing A Happy Song:

New Poem: Sour Grapes

I would like to share a poem, from a collection of poems, published in my book God Speaks:  Let Us Reason Together called “Sour Grapes.”   It reminds me that God does not pass the sins of the father on to the children, but every soul shall pay for his own sin.  (Jeremiah 31:29; Ezekiel 18:4)

I came upon a grapevine as I walked in pastures true

The day was warm and sunny and the sky was vivid blue

I thought to sit awhile amidst the scenic view

As I leaned back upon a fence I did perchance to muse

No more sour grapes

No more sour grapes upon the vine

The days are past are gone at last that they should intertwine

No more sour grapes

No more sour grapes upon the vine

The judgment came to lay the blame no more upon the line

But every man his own to bear to eat the sour grape

For those who pick this bitter fruit there will be no escape

The sweetest fruit upon the vine make glad he keepers heart

And those who eat shall never lack the joy that it imparts.

My Music

Gospel Music Ministry started out being just that, an avenue for publishing my own gospel/christian music.  I have been producing music for some time in my home studio.  Self-taught, from humble beginnings; like others, I want to share the Good News of the Gospel through what I love, songwriting.   Since this blog is not currently adaptable to that end, I have started to put my music on YouTube.

You can find my songs listed at the following links:

Wilderness Road speaks to being alone (in spirit), just you and God

If I Be Here speaks to prophesied end-time events and the coming of our savior.

Since I cannot afford to professionally record my songs, they are available for re-recording.  For serious inquiries only, I can be contacted by email at
